The Baensch Prize is awarded for the best essay on Wisconsin history. Projects considered need not deal with Wisconsin exclusively,
but the subject must clearly center on the history of the territory and/or state.
Conditions of Award
Applicants must be history majors. Their applications must include an essay with a focus on Wisconsin history, be at least 10-15 pages
in length, and have been written for a history course.
How to Apply
Visit the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub (WiSH) to apply for Department of History writing prizes by logging in to your
WiSH dashboard or by using the Sign In button in the top-right corner of your screen.
Students will be considered for the Baensch Prize by completing the Department of History Undergraduate Writing Prize application.
