School of Pharmacy Class of 2015 Erika Grace Nelson Liebert Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarship support to help keep the UW School of Pharmacy financially accessible for future qualified students, and this award was duly established in honor of Erika Grace Nelson Liebert. While enrolled at the UW School of Pharmacy, Erika was a hard worker and dedicated student who had always dreamed of being a pharmacist. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in early 2013, Erika endured all the recommended treatments while still attending school — even making the honor roll that semester. The initial treatments worked temporarily, but her cancer soon returned in March 2014. She continued working as a pharmacy intern and was able to walk with the Class of 2014, receiving an honorary Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Erika passed away on October 11, 2014 and is remembered as a fighter full of grace and strength.
