William F. Allen Prize
The William F. Allen Prize is awarded for the best historical essays of term-paper size and scope.
Open to all undergraduate students who have taken a history class, both history majors and non-majors.
Essays must be at least 10-15 pages in length and written for a history course.
Up to three $200 prizes will be awarded. No more than one of the prizes may be awarded to a non-history major.
How to Apply
Visit the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub (WiSH) to search and apply for Department of History writing prizes by logging in to your
WiSH dashboard or by using the Sign In button in the top-right corner of your screen.
Students will be considered for the Allen Prize if they complete the Department of History Undergraduate Writing Prize application.
