SW838 Principles of Psychedelic Healing Scholarship
The Sandra Rosenbaum School of Social Work is excited to offer an eight-week online course, Principles of Psychedelic Healing, beginning in June, 2025. The course is designed for both current students and practicing clinical social workers. The school is offering scholarships of $800 for community social workers to take the two-credit course at a significantly reduced cost, thanks to a generous donation from alumna and board member Meghan Morrissey.
The course will help social workers gain a foundational understanding of the psychedelic compounds commonly used in psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT), their history of indigenous and clinical use, and implications for ethical practice. Social workers will also develop harm reduction and integration skills to support clients who are engaging in PAT, contributing to more comprehensive treatment options for their clients. A mix of current students and practicing clinical social workers in the course will enhance a collaborative learning environment and extend the learning that takes place in class to clinics across the state. The online course runs June 16th – August 10th, with synchronous class sessions via Zoom from 6:00-8:30pm on Wednesdays, 6/18, 6/25, 7/9, 7/16, 7/23, & 8/6.
