Julie and Lance Meyerowich Scholarship for Study Abroad

For undergraduates studying abroad through International Programs in the Wisconsin School of Business, this scholarship considers financial need as well as merit.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be UW-Madison undergraduates studying abroad for at least one semester on a program administered by Wisconsin School of Business International Programs. In order to be considered for this award, an applicant must have submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).


How to Apply
UW Madison undergraduates who will be studying abroad through Wisconsin School of Business International Programs in an upcoming term may apply for this scholarship via https://scholarships.wisc.edu/StudentApp. The priority deadline to apply for the upcoming summer and next academic year is March 1st. Applications received after the priority deadline may be considered if any scholarships remain.


Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on financial need as well as applicants’ academic records, involvement, and essays. The selection committee will consider how you address the following in your essay and on your resume:
why studying abroad is important to your academic and career objectives;
how you have prepared yourself for an international experience (with or without previous overseas experience);
how you plan to serve as a positive ambassador for the Wisconsin School of Business; and how you plan to help promote study abroad once you return.
Preference will be given to BBA and Certificate in Business students.

Award Information
Awards are for one semester and range from $500 to $2000.


Conditions of Award
From the time recipients are awarded this scholarship until they graduate, they will be expected to participate in International Programs outreach activities (including but not limited to: Business Study Abroad Slam and International Perspectives course returnee panel). Recipients will also be expected to complete any post-study abroad surveys administered by International Programs.

Additionally, recipients will be expected to provide a thank you note to the donor before departing as well as send a postcard or letter while they are abroad.
