Julia and Jon Currie Scholarship for Study Abroad

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be UW-Madison undergraduates studying abroad for at least one semester on a program administered by Wisconsin School of Business International Programs.


Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on applicants’ academic records, involvement, and essays. Demonstrated interest in the host country (through language and/or area studies coursework, for example) and commitment to learn about and share with other cultures are essential. Additional consideration may be given to students on exchange programs with foreign language requirements or with coursework offered in languages other than English. Preference will be given to BBA and Certificate in Business students.

These awards are made possible by the generosity of Jon and Julia Currie and the Currie Family Fund in International Business.


Award Information
Up to two $1500 awards are possible.


Conditions of Award
From the time recipients are awarded this scholarship until they graduate, they will be expected to participate in International Programs outreach activities (including but not limited to: Business Study Abroad Slam and International Perspectives course returnee panel). Recipients will also be expected to complete any post-study abroad surveys administered by International Programs.

Additionally, recipients will be expected to provide a thank-you note to the donor before departing as well as send a postcard or letter while they are abroad.
