Alex and Demiana Hanna Pride Scholarship
The Alex and Demiana Hanna Pride Scholarship shall be awarded to a sociology major who is actively committed to and engaged in activities that advocate for and support the LGBTQ community. Students must provide a short statement activities related to your engagement, advocacy, support, and/or leadership in LGBTQ+ communities. They should also provide the name and contact information for a UW-Madison sociology instructor (faculty member, lecturer, or TA) who can speak to your work in their class OR someone who can speak to your engagement, advocacy, and/or leadership in LGBTQ+ communities.
Preference may be given to disadvantaged students and students with financial need. “Disadvantaged” includes first-generation students, students from low-income families, or students who experienced other family circumstances that have impacted educational opportunities.”
