Nancy Denney Memorial Scholarship

The Nancy W. Denney Memorial Scholarship was established by friends, family, and colleagues to honor Nancy Denney, a devoted psychology professor and single parent who passed away from breast cancer in 1995. The scholarship continues her legacy of supporting students who balance the demands of parenting, work, and education. It was made possible through a generous founding contribution from the Evjue Foundation, along with numerous private donations from those inspired by Denney’s commitment to student-parents.

This scholarship supports a single parent student pursuing their first undergraduate degree in the College of Letters & Sciences. Eligibility requirements include:

  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Head of household
  • Potential for success
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or eligible non-citizen

The application for this award is to be submitted through the ‘Scholarships for Nontraditional, Adult, & Single Parent Students’ opportunity. There are up to 15 individual scholarships associated with this one application, administered by the Division of Continuing Studies.
