Otto Villwock Medical Education Fund

The Otto Villwock Medical Scholarship Fund was created to support future doctors interested in practicing medicine in either the state of Ohio or the State of Wisconsin. The scholarship financials are managed by JP Morgan Chase Bank and scholarship funds are provided directly to the Bursar’s Office and applied to the recipient’s student account. Any recipient may re-apply annually and shall be eligible for funds so long as they meet the requirements set forth and as long as they remain in school at a satisfactory academic level.

Eligibility Criteria for the award:

  • The applicant must be a resident of either the state of Wisconsin or the state of Ohio for a period of at least 15 years prior to application for scholarship funds.
  • The applicant must be a person whose father is deceased at the time of the application for scholarship funds.
  • The applicant must be poor and in need of financial assistance to further his/her education in the field of medicine on the college level.
  • The applicant must be a high school graduate or have obtained equivalent education comparable with the present high school graduate standard so as to be admitted to a college offering education in the field of medicine.
  • The applicant must be desirous of obtaining a medical degree to practice medicine as a physician or surgeon in either the state of Ohio or the state of Wisconsin.
  • The scholarship recipient and their immediate family members* may not be employed by JPMorgan Chase Bank NA or affiliates.
  • The scholarship recipient or their immediate family members* may not be related to any of the committee representatives who are choosing them to receive the scholarship.

In addition, special consideration is to be given to any applicant who is a member of the tribe of Oneida Indians of the state of Wisconsin.

*Immediate family member is defined as spouse, domestic partner, child (natural, adopted or step), parent or step-parent, sibling (natural, half, adopted or step) father- or mother-in-law, grandparent, niece, nephew or spouse/domestic partner of a child, parent, sibling, grandparent, niece or nephew.

The committee shall give preference and view favorably the application of those who have previously received the benefit of the trust so long as they meet the requirements set forth.
