College of Letters & Science General Scholarship - Sophomores
The College of Letters & Science General Scholarship provides one-time awards to first year students pursuing a degree from the College of Letters & Science.
Completed applications are evaluated using College of Letters & Science criteria (academic excellence, community service, leadership, diversity, strength of character, and creative accomplishment) and require well written essays. In addition, scholarships with a financial need component require a completed FAFSA form on file with UW-Madison. Students who are not current recipients of Letters & Science multi-year scholarships are given priority.
These scholarships are funded by the generous contributions of donors to the Letters & Science scholarship fund at the University of Wisconsin foundation.
Apply for the College of Letters & Science Scholarships Application for Current First Year Students by using your campus NetID and password and clicking on the “Sign In” button on the top-right corner of this screen.
Student financial aid packages can be impacted by scholarship awards. It is recommended that students contact UW’s Office of Student Financial Aid to learn about impact on current aid packages.
