Ornstein-Warendorf Scholarship
The Ornstein-Warendorf scholarship provides a one-time award to a high achieving student majoring in history and/or a foreign language. Preference is given to students majoring in both history and a foreign language and who have a recommendation from faculty in one of those departments.
Completed applications are evaluated using donor criteria and College of Letters & Science criteria (academic excellence, community service, leadership, diversity, strength of character, and creative accomplishment). Successful applicants should also have well written essays. In addition, scholarships with a financial need component require a completed FAFSA form on file with UW-Madison. Students who are not current recipients of Letters & Science multi-year scholarships are given priority. Students must be in and maintain good standing and full-time enrollment in the College of Letters & Science.
The donor wishes to recognize past academic performance and future potential.
Apply for the College of Letters & Science Scholarships Application for Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors by using your campus NetID and password and clicking on the “Sign In” button on the top-right corner of this screen.
Student financial aid packages can be impacted by scholarship awards. It is recommended that students contact UW’s Office of Student Financial Aid to learn about impact on current aid packages.
