Ragsdale Fund for Journalism Education
This fund was established by the School of Journalism and Mass Communications in December 1997 to honor Professor Emeritus Wilmott Ragsdale.
About the process: Students do not apply for individual scholarships with the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Students fill out one application and the scholarship committee matches students to awards. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academics, study area and involvement. Donor Information
Professor Ragsdale taught at the UW from 1960 until his retirement in 1982 and was perhaps the most popular teacher ever on the faculty. He oversaw the creation of the Specialized Reporting MA Program in 1967. He was also a distinguished journalist and a foreign correspondent during World War II.
