Donald R. Peterson Scholarship
The Donald R. Peterson Scholarship honors its namesake, who was a 1955 graduate of the University of Wisconsin’s Business School and a 1958 graduate of the Law School. Don maintained a long and respected legal career. Specializing in civil litigation defense, Don was a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and was regarded as one of Milwaukee’s best defense attorneys. Don won countless trials during his 57-year legal career, including the last case he ever tried, in 2015 at age 82.
Don received a scholarship when he was a student at the Law School, and was always grateful for it. It was one of Don’s wishes to provide a similar scholarship opportunity for future law students. In honor of Don and in his memory, the family and friends of Don have created the Donald R. Peterson Scholarship Fund to honor the life and career of their beloved husband, father, and friend.
