Joe Corry and Barbara Weston Corry Scholarship

Alumni Joe Corry and Barbara Weston Corry established the Joe Corry and Barbara Weston Corry Scholarship Fund in 2000, following their remarkable combined 53 years of service to the University as academic staff members. Barbara retired as a senior editor at the Center for Demography and Ecology, while Joe served as an associate vice chancellor in the Office of Academic Affairs.

This scholarship supports a single parent, returning adult student in an undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree program. Eligibility requirements include:

  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Gap in formal education of at least one year
  • Head of household
  • Strong academic record – minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
  • Close to degree completion
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or eligible non-citizen

The application for this award is to be submitted through the ‘Scholarships for Nontraditional, Adult, & Single Parent Students’ opportunity. There are up to 15 individual scholarships associated with this one application, administered by the Division of Continuing Studies.
