Wisconsin in Washington - Poli Sci

The Department of Political Science has limited scholarship funding available for Political Science declared majors who are participating in the Wisconsin in Washington (WIW) Program. Other scholarship options, including some sponsored by International Academic Programs (IAP) and the College of Letters & Science, are open to all majors participating in WIW.

Political Science Scholarship funding levels and decisions on support are based on funding availability each semester AND students’ demonstrated merit and financial need.

Compared to many study abroad options the costs of participating in WIW are much closer to the actual combined semester costs (e.g., tuition/fees, housing, etc.) of a student who stays in Madison for the semester. In answering these questions, please be as specific as possible pertaining to your particular financial situation.
    • How do you plan to use your scholarship?
    • How have you been financing your college education?
    • We have only limited numbers of scholarships we can offer. But there are many more applicants for it. What makes you stand out in terms of merit, but also specified and verifiable financial need?
    • What impact would scholarship support from Political Science have on your participation in WIW? State any special personal or family circumstances affecting your need for financial assistance.
