Mary Ann Halvorson Scholarship
Mary Ann Halvorson attended Bay View High School in Milwaukee and UW–Milwaukee; then graduated from Marquette University where she received her BA and MA degrees. She did further graduate work at UW–Madison. Mary Ann was employed in Student Services at UW–Milwaukee; she then became a school psychologist with Madison Metropolitan School District from 1958 to 1985. She was active in the League of Women Voters (Dane County); MARC and Portal-Foster Associations; Alpha Delta Kappa-Iota; several book clubs and other organizations. She supported animal welfare, environmental issues, women’s and children’s issues, as well as liberal causes. For many years she hosted a Madison reunion each May for a group of college friends from UW–Milwaukee. Her generosity extended to the UW Foundation, Madison Public Library, and the Foundation for Madison Public Schools.

A student admitted to School of Education Educational Psychology program.
