Linguistics Opportunity Award
The Language Sciences program awards the Linguistics Opportunity Award to recognize the accomplishments of students majoring in Linguistics.
Students must be sophomores or juniors majoring in Linguistics who will be enrolled in the upcoming Fall semester.
Successful applicants should have evidence of academic excellence in linguistic coursework, involvement in projects such as research or volunteer work/community service related to linguistics, a strong recommendation and well-written essay.
The award is funded from generous donations from alumni and others to the Linguistics Fund.
Student financial aid packages can be impacted by scholarship awards. It is recommended that students contact the financial aid office to learn about impact on current aid packages.

- Summarize your achievements related to linguistics. These could include a paper you wrote for a class, research you’re involved in or are planning, outreach or volunteer work, or your future directions, such as your plans for graduate school or the relevance of linguistics for your future career.
