PT 2 Stephanie Joy (Graham) Lunning Scholarship Fund

This scholarship was created with a gift from Bruce Lunning, in memory of his spouse Stephanie Joy (Graham) Lunning (BS ‘74) with the intent of assisting physical therapy students with the cost of their education and training. The purpose of this Fund is to provide an annual scholarship to a physical therapy student with financial need in the student’s graduating year in the University’s Physical Therapy (PT) Program. Awards from this Fund shall be made according to the established procedures within the Program.
My wife Stephanie (Graham) Lunning was a 1974 graduate of the UW-Madison’s Physical Therapy program. We both grew up in Monona on the east side of Madison, The UW was an influence for us both. My step- brother Mitch Jordan is also a UW Madison PT. Stephanie worked as PT her whole adult life, it has been good to our family in many ways. It is a caring profession that helps people live their life to the fullest. Stephanie had many friendships and good memories from her PT association. I know a good education is an important part of a successful life. I also feel programs like the Doctorate in PT have become very expensive so being able to help a person complete the program is good for the profession’s future. Stephanie had been donating to the UW scholarship fund for many years. She had been a speaker at PT classes in Minnesota on the licensure process in Minnesota; she was the director of the Minnesota APTA peer view process for 10 years and the first director of the Minnesota Board of Physical Therapy.
