Grainger Power Engineering Awards Program

The general purpose of The Grainger Power Engineering Awards Program is to motivate highly qualified undergraduate and graduate students to enroll for academic degrees in the field of power engineering. Each year the Foundation will advise the Dean of the College of Engineering and the Chair of the Department of the total amounts available for distribution in support of the Program’s goals.The goals of the Program include: a. To motivate highly qualified undergraduate and graduate students to enroll for academic degrees in the field of power engineering. b. To develop a very well qualified subgroup of College of Engineering students who will come to know members of the power engineering faculty and the field of power engineering. c. To graduate a number of students highly qualified to enter the field of power engineering and to contribute professionally to the future of power engineering. d. To encourage and recognize graduate students who have made, or are likely to make, significant research and professional contributions in the field of power engineering. Awards shall be restricted to students who are U.S. Citizens or permanent U.S. residents as defined by the United States Department of Homeland Security. The Department faculty shall select, at its sole discretion, the undergraduate and graduate students to receive these awards. The number, amount, and timing of the awards shall be at the discretion of the Department faculty. The Department may, at its discretion, award a limited number of research scholarships for undergraduate students.
