Jean Chapman Kiernat Scholarship (OT-GD)

Jean Chapman Kiernat is a 1957 graduate of the Occupational Therapy program and received a Master’s Degree in 1970 in Adult Education in the School of Education. After graduating, she went to have a very meaningful career in Occupational Therapy, including acting as the Assistant Director for Education and Outreach at Samaritan Health Service, Institute of Gerentology in Pheonix, Arizona.

She was inspired to create a scholarship while reading the Occupational Therapy newsletter that comes from the School of Education. While reading it, she noticed that because of the Occupational Therapy program at UW-Madison, she had had direct contact with almost every person named in the newsletter.
