The Crone Family Scholarship

Clifford W. Crone and his wife Ireta L. (Dyslin) Crone were avid learners throughout their lives and raised their family to value lifelong learning and public education. They also loved the University of WI, where Cliff received his Master of Education degree in 1957. Cliff devoted his life to public education, first studying at Carthage College (Carthage, IL) and later, receiving his Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Colorado (Boulder). Starting his career as a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse, Cliff had many proud moments in his life working as a school administrator in Freeport, Jacksonville, and Naperville-Aurora, IL. He retired as a superintendent of Indian Prairie School District 204, where he was deeply honored to have the Crone Middle School named for him.

This scholarship was created in honor of Clifford W. Crone ’57 and Ireta L. Crone.
