Daniel J. Travanti Scholarship

Daniel Travanti received a BA in 1963 in Speech from the University of Wisconsin. He later attended the Yale School of Drama on a fellowship. In 1982, he graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a master’s degree in English, His most famous portrayal was as Captain Frank Furillo on NBC’s groundbreaking Hill Street Blues from 1981-1987. He gained critical and popular acclaim for his efforts and received two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for his role. He also received five Emmy nominations for his work on the show and another for the TV movie Adam. Travanti also appeared off Broadway in Oren Safdies’ “The Last Word” and in Eugene O’Neill’s “A Touch of the Poet,” both in New York City. Since then he has made appearances on Criminal Minds, NCIS: Los Angeles, and Boss (to name a few).

Eligibility Criteria
Awarded to full time undergraduate or graduate majoring in Theatre & Drama. Considerations for performance ability, academic standing, extra curricular activities and/or financial need.
