Janet L. Birch Professional Development Fund in Weaving and Textile Design

This fund is named for and established in honor of Janet Lynn “Jan” Birch by her husband of 37 years, Edward A. Corcoran ’74, JD ‘81. Jan earned a BS in 1971 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a focused study in textiles, and an MS in 1978 focused in business.

This fund is dedicated to educational initiatives and professional development activities for Textiles & Fashion Design students studying weaving. This fund will pay for a Textiles & Fashion Design student to take a 2 Week Weaving Course: through Penland School of Craft: Weaving Specific. It is open to all students in the Textiles & Fashion Design major.
