The Outstanding Advocacy and Policy Brief in Education Studies Award

The Outstanding Advocacy and Policy Brief in Education Studies Award recognizes excellence in all student work that advances the public’s knowledge and understanding of educational inequalities. The Department will consider assignments such as advocacy pieces, boarding games, blogs, infographics, podcasts, posters, and policy briefs, among others.

Applicants must be declared ES majors and submit:

○ One-page cover letter describing their work, its rationale and impact. Please be aware that the first round of revisions will be based on your cover letter.
○ A digital copy of the piece considered for this award.
○ An unofficial transcript.

Applications Open: January 22 to February 18, 2024

The Criteria:
● You must be a declared EPS Certificate or Education Studies major.
● You may self-nominate or be nominated by a faculty member in the School of Education.
● You may only apply to one award.
● You may only receive each award once.
● Awards come with a certificate and a $1000 monetary award.

Expectations
● Winners will answer the question, " What do you plan to do with this award? " and will be featured in our newsletter and on our website.
