Linda Wernecke Marshall Graduate Award in Environmental Studies
Eligibility Criteria
The purpose of this scholarship award is to provide financial support to graduate students in the Nelson Institute to work in areas of transformative education, public environmental literacy, or outreach to diverse stakeholder groups (e.g., agricultural or business leadership) related to environmental issues in the United States or Canada.
Student applicants must be enrolled full-time in and actively pursuing one of the following Nelson Institute programs: 1) MS in Environment and Resources, 2) PhD in Environment and Resources.
Student applicants must be in good academic standing, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Apply for this scholarship by completing the Environment and Resources Research Awards application in the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub (WiSH).
Donor Information
This scholarship award is made possible via private philanthropy from Ms. Linda Wernecke Marshall.
Scholarship awardees are required to write a thank you Ms. Wernecke Marshall and are expected to coordinate with the Nelson Institute’s Director of Advancement & Donor Relations regarding these letters.
Award Information
A total of $3,000 in scholarships are available to be awarded during the Spring 2024 scholarship competition. Multiple awards will be made.
Applicants will be notified of their selection in April 2024 and will be honored at the Nelson Institute’s Scholarship Recognition Luncheon on Friday, April 19, 2024.
