University League Scholarship - Louise B. Defoliart Endowed Scholarship

Louise B. Defoliart was a UW-Madison graduate, and her husband, Gene, was a professor in the Department of Entomology. Louise was known for her knowledge and expertise in the many volunteer organizations in which she was involved. She was a dedicated member and former President of The University League, and as such, this scholarship was established in her memory. The University League, a non-profit membership organization founded in 1901, has a long history of supporting UW–Madison students. Since 1985, the League has given scholarship funding and gifts to UW related organizations. The purpose of the League is to raise funds for student scholarships and to promote volunteer services, educational opportunities and social activities for its members. The University League is open to all women and men in the community who support UW-Madison.
