Joan D. DeBruin Non-Traditional Scholarship
The Joan D. DeBruin Non-Traditional scholarship provides a one-time award (amount subject to variation) to a non-traditional student with financial need pursuing a degree from the College of Letters & Science.
Selection for this scholarship opportunity from the College of Letters & Science will be assessed per the 2023-2024 College of Letters & Science Scholarships Application for Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors. Awards prioritize excellent students with financial need. You are encouraged to complete the FAFSA to determine eligibility for institutional and federal financial aid by the UW priority date. Admission application essays may be reviewed as a part of the scholarship selection process.
Joan D. DeBruin established this fund to provide financial support and recognition to students with financial need who are either returning to school after being out of academics for five plus years or students who are entering college directly from the workforce or military service.
Students awarded a scholarship will receive an award offer email to their wisc.edu email account.
Student financial aid packages may be impacted by scholarship awards. It is recommended that students contact UW’s Office of Student Financial Aid to learn about impact on current aid packages.
