Sadie & Richard Delwiche Scholarship

This scholarship was established in December 2007 to recognize the life work of Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Sadie Delwiche. Sadie grew up on a farm on the east side of Madison; Richard was from the Green Bay area. They met while undergraduates in the College of Agriculture at UW-Madison. Richard graduated with a BS in Ag Economics in 1935 and a MS in Ag Economics in 1936. Sadie graduated in 1935 with a degree in Dietetics. Richard, his sister and six brothers were children of Professor E.J. Delwiche of the UW Agronomy Department and a leading figure in the University’s Experiment Station system, serving as the first Superintendent of the Northern Branch Experimental Stations from 1909-1945. All seven brothers were graduates of the UW College of Agriculture, and all went on to careers in agriculture-related fields.
