Betty Ann Clark (Tracy) Scholarship
The Betty Ann Clark Tracy scholarship provides a one-time award to a high achieving junior or senior (maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA) demonstrating writing ability by regular appearance in, or credited editorial work on, student or other publications and who are under- taking independent study in writing.
Completed applications are evaluated using donor criteria and College of Letters & Science criteria (academic excellence, community service, leadership, diversity, strength of character, and creative accomplishment). Successful applicants should also have strong recommendations and well written essays. In addition, scholarships with a financial need component require a completed FAFSA form on file with UW-Madison. Students who are not current recipients of Letters & Science multi-year scholarships are given priority.
Ann Clark Tracy was a resident of Gunnison, Colorado and was a dedicated professor of English at Western State College. Gunnison reminded her of her hometown of Rhinelander. She received her BA and MA in English in 1947 and 1958.
