Netzer-Brouchoud Scholarship

The Netzer-Brouchoud scholarship was established with gifts from Lanore A. Netzer ‘51 and her husband Glen G. Eye in honor of Lanore’s father, Henry Nathan Netzer and her nephew, Bernard Netzer Brouchoud. Bernard Netzer Brouchoud was born in 1937 in Mishicot, Wisconsin. Bernard was a naturalist with a special interest in birds. His grandfather, Henry, who taught him much about plant and animal life, nurtured his love of nature. They were constant companions all through their lives. After graduation from high school, Bernard enrolled in the Integrated Liberal Studies program at UW-Madison. He left after one semester to pursue his ever-developing idea of a nature study center which eventually found fruition in what is now called the Woodland Dunes Nature Center and Preserve in Two Rivers, Wisconsin.

Eligibility Criteria
Awarded to undergraduate students in CALS enrolled in Wildlife Ecology who are studying wild bird life. Consideration is based on academic standing and extra-curricular activities. Minimum GPA of 2.5. Wildlife Ecology nominates students for this award.
