Laverne and Betty Forest Scholarship

Laverne Forest was a member of the CALS faculty for 24 years; prior to that appointment, he served as a county extension agent in Washington and Rock counties in Minnesota. Together with Betty and their family, they started Eplegaarden in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, in 1985. Betty Forest established the Fund in memory of her husband Laverne. She wishes to support a scholarship for students in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences interested in research and/or extension related to fruits and vegetables produced or grown and sold locally.

Eligibility Criteria
This scholarship supports horticulture undergrads with junior or senior standing and first preference shall be given to students interested in research and/or extension related to fruits and vegetables produced or grown and sold locally.
