GWS Graduate Student Service award
The GWS Graduate Student Service Award recognizes the contributions of graduate students who have demonstrated a pattern of service throughout their time in the department and on campus. Service may include (but is not limited to) activities such as dedicated teaching and mentoring of undergraduate students, mentoring new graduate students in the program, serving on department and/or university committees, advocating for equitable policies in the context of the department or the broader campus, contributing to student organizations, etc.. This award is intended to recognize students who engage in a range of service opportunities at the program, department, college, university, and/or professional level.
Award amount: $1,000
How to Apply: Students in the final semester of their graduate program in Gender and Women’s Studies are eligible for the award. Summer graduates should apply in the spring semester prior to graduation.
Please submit a cv or resume and a 1- 2 page application letter that includes a summary of your contributions to the program, department, college, university, and/or professional service and an explanation of how your service has gone above and beyond in terms of its consistency, frequency, and quality.
