Stephen M. Born-Henry’s Fork Foundation Internship Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria
The purpose of this scholarship award is to support students doing a summer internship at the Henry Fork’s Foundation in Ashton, Idaho.

The Henry’s Fork Foundation has numerous internship opportunities available, based upon complementary matching of organizational needs and applicant skillsets. Eligible recipients must be enrolled full-time and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in order to be eligible for this scholarship award.

Donor Information
Steve Born is Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and former Program Chair of the Nelson Institute’s Water Resources Management Program. He focused his research, professional, and outreach activities on water and related resource planning and management issues, and the theory and application of integrated environmental management concepts. He has been a leader in using Wisconsin environmental management situations as models for other states, even other countries. As a former Wisconsin State Planning Director, he is also involved with state, regional, and intergovernmental policy and planning issues. Steve’s longstanding relationship with the Nelson Institute, the Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture, and the Henry’s Fork Foundation serve as the inspiration for this scholarship award.

Award Information
One $6,000 scholarship is available to be awarded during the Spring 2023 scholarship competition.

Applicants will be notified of their selection in April 2023 and will be honored at the Nelson Institute’s Spring Commencement Celebration on Thursday, May 4, 2023.
