It is the wish of the donor, Rochelle Simms, to honor her husband who credited his success in advertising to his education in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication (’47). Mr. Simms entered the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1940, and enlisted in the army in 1943 before completing his degree. He returned to Madison after the war. A pioneer and co-founder of the Mandabach & Simms Advertising Agency in Chicago, the agency grew to become largest in the number of accounts in the food service industry in the United States. It was later sold to Ketchum Communications.
