Francis E. and Catherine Lamboley Scholarship

The Francis E. and Catherine Lamboley scholarship provides a one-time award (amount subject to variation) to a high achieving incoming Green County resident with financial need pursuing a degree from the College of Letters & Science.

The majority of scholarship opportunities for incoming freshman in the College of Letters & Science will be assessed per the admission application and financial aid data from the FAFSA. There is not a separate scholarship application to complete for most scholarships. Most awards prioritize excellent students with financial need. You are encouraged to complete the FAFSA to determine eligibility for institutional and federal financial aid by the December 1 priority date. Admission application essays may be reviewed as a part of the scholarship selection process. Scholarship opportunities are very limited for non-Wisconsin residents and international students are not eligible for incoming freshman scholarships. The UW-Madison admissions decision process is independent of the College of Letters & Science scholarship awarding process.

The Francis E. and Catherine Lamboley Scholarship fund was established by Francis and Catherine’s son, E. Gerald Lamboley. While at UW-Madison, he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Law Review.

Students awarded an incoming freshman scholarship will receive an award offer email to their wisc.edu email account.

Student financial aid packages may be impacted by scholarship awards. It is recommended that students contact the financial aid office to learn about impact on current aid packages.
