Walter W. Ruben Short Course Scholarship
Walter Ruben grew up on the family farm with his parents and eight siblings and graduated from Fountain City High School in 1925. He attended the University of Wisconsin Farm and Industry Short Course program and returned to the farm where he introduced and produced the first hybrid seed corn in Buffalo County and was among the earliest hybrid seed corn growers in Wisconsin.
Awarded to FISC students with the following order of preference: Cochrane-Fountain City School District in Buffalo County, WI, then award may be extended to students from nearby counties. Financial need is a consideration for this scholarship.
