David Connor Forestry Internship Award

David Connor earned a BS in Agricultural Economics in 1966 from UW-Madison, and was the executive vice president of Connor Forest Industries and was director of the National Kitchen Cabinet Association. As well, he served on the State Forest Industries Advisory Council. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Madison, David conducted graduate work on forest technology and marketing at Michigan State University before serving in the US Navy in Vietnam. As well, he ran and was elected to office as the Seventh District Republican chairman and served on the Wisconsin state Republican finance committee. David was killed in a plane crash in 1978. His siblings, Gordon Connor (BS ’59 Engineering) and Mary Connor Pierce (BS ’55 L&S), created the David Connor Forestry Internship Fund in his memory with the mission of helping educate highly trained graduates that have real-world living experience to meet the challenges facing today’s forestry professional.
