UW-Madison Undergraduate Scholarship for Summer Study
Need-based scholarship awarded to continuing undergraduate students (of any major) seeking financial support to take courses in the upcoming summer session at UW-Madison. Award availability and amounts are subject to vary. Typically awards range from $500-1,000. Please note that if you apply for both the Summer Finish and the Undergraduate Scholarship for Summer Study you are not able to receive both awards. If selected, you will only receive one of the awards.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be currently enrolled at UW-Madison pursuing an undergraduate degree
- Be in good academic standing and have a cumulative GPA which reflects academic success
- Enroll in at least one UW-Madison summer course by April 10th
- FAFSA required prior to awarding decisions for domestic students. Students that are unable to file the FAFSA are eligible to apply and should utilize the open responses financial need question on the application to explain their level of need. (Note: students without a FAFSA on file are not eligible for the early notification option.)
Freshmen, sophomores, and students taking a full summer credit load (6-9 credits) are encouraged to apply.
How to Apply
Apply for the UW-Madison Undergraduate Scholarship for Summer Study through the WiSH portal. Applications are due April 10, 2022. Some students may be eligible to receive their scholarship decision by the end of March if they submit their application by March 20, 2022 (but must have a FAFSA on file for this option).
Completed applications are evaluated by a scholarship committee using the above eligibility criteria. Successful applicants will have well written responses to the application questions.
Award recipients will be notified by end of April.
This scholarship requires a completed FAFSA form on file with UW-Madison.
Conditions of Award
Award availability and amounts are subject to vary (typically $500-1,000). Award can only be applied to UW-Madison summer tuition & fees and may not be used at another institution or for study abroad programs that do not bill program tuition through UW-Madison.
