Thermo Fisher Scientific STEM Scholarship
The Thermo Fisher Scientific STEM Scholarship provides a renewable award (amount subject to variation) to a high achieving incoming freshman with financial need pursuing a degree in the College of Letters & Science. Only students intending to major in particular STEM areas are eligible to apply. Only students intending to pursue degrees in Letters & Science are considered.
Completed applications are evaluated using donor criteria with special attention paid to math and science performance as well as career interests. Successful applicants should also have strong recommendations and well written essays. In addition, scholarships with a financial need component require a completed FAFSA form on file with UW-Madison.
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has a mission to enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. They are a world leader in science and aim to financially assist students majoring in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, computer science, geology, geophysics, molecular biology, or mathematics. This award is intended for students interested in pursuing non-medical STEM careers.

Student financial aid packages can be impacted by scholarship awards. It is recommended that students contact the financial aid office to learn about impact on current aid packages.

- Background:The Thermo Fisher Scientific Corporation established this scholarship fund to support exceptional students with financial need (as determined by the FAFSA) studying in STEM areas with particular majors. Students who are interested in careers in scientific research are encouraged to apply. Applicants without financial need are not eligible for this scholarship. Only applicants with a FAFSA on file will be considered. Financial aid data will be confirmed in early March.
