Judith Hicks Stiehm Scholarship

This award was established by the children of Prof. Judith Hicks Stiehm, who is an alumna of the political science department and a current member of the department’s Board of Visitors. Prof. Stiehm is a recipient of the WAA Distinguished Alumni Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Wisconsin Alumni Association.
Students can apply for the award by completing the Political Science Scholarships Application.


A filed FAFSA required prior to awarding decisions.


Eligibility Criteria
Preference is for a WI resident.


How to Apply
Students should submit application online for consideration. Financial need will be assessed in conjunction with the Office of Student Financial Aid. The recipient will be recognized at the Department’s Award Ceremony in April.


Selection Criteria
This award is provided to a student with financial need who shows academic promise; if award is to support internship, travel, or research, a statement about the value of this experience to the student’s educational goals will be a major consideration.


Award Information
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide support to an undergraduate studying political science; it may be used for tuition or to enhance the academic experience by providing support for an internship, travel, or research. Preference is given to a Wisconsin resident. Student must have demonstrated financial need. Student must also maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
