Arnhold Dance Scholarship

Jody Gottfried Arnhold graduated from UW in 1965. She is a dance educator, dance advocate, and co-founder of the Dance Education Laboratory (DEL) at the 92nd Street Y. She, along with Joan Finkelstein and Ann Biddle, started DEL in 1995 to provide a practical dance education program and prepare teachers to work with children and teens. Previously, she was an executive producer of the dance education documentary “PS Dance!” and worked at Columbia University from 1986 until 1991 supervising student teachers and teaching a dance course. Jody taught dance in New York City public schools for 25 years, developed curriculum at the Laban Institute of Movement Studies, and was a founder, director, and dance teacher of the community dance program within the Teachers College at Columbia University from 1975 until 1985.

Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Education who demonstrate financial need.
