W.D. Hoard Memorial Graduate Scholarship

Widely considered the father of the Wisconsin dairy industry, William Dempster Hoard played a prominent role in the development of the School of Agriculture at the University of Wisconsin. Hoard crusaded for a prosperous, soil-building agriculture prompted the founding of Hoard’s Dairyman, the national dairy farm magazine. As Governor of Wisconsin, he championed the fight against food adulteration and the spread of mis-branding of human food. His accomplishments in the dairy and farming industry are honored with this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria
Awarded to CALS graduate students in Agricultural Journalism, Life Sciences Communication, Dairy Science or Food Science.
