Dudley P. Howe Memorial Scholarship in the Arts

This scholarship was established in memory of Dudley Howe. Associate Dean Jerilyn “Ja Ja” Howe ‘72 once owned the famed 602 Club on University Avenue, a favorite hangout for art students. Her father, Dudley, bought the bar back in 1951 and ran it until 1991 when Ja Ja took over the family business. She decided to sell the 602 Club just three years later to Jay Wanserski, who renamed it Wando’s. Ja Ja ‘s father, Dudley, died in 1992 and to honor her father she established the Dudley P. Howe Memorial Scholarship in the Arts Fund in 1994.
