Catherine V. and Virginia E. Tenuta Scholarship - All School

The Catherine V. and Virginia E. Tenuta Scholarship is made possible by a gift from Virginia Tenuta and her late sister, Catherine. Both received bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin—Virginia’s from the School of Education and Catherine’s from the College of Letters and Sciences. Both later completed master’s degrees. Virginia taught in the Wausau and Kenosha public schools, with much of her career spent in guidance counseling. Catherine taught at Marquette University, at the UW Extension Centers in Kenosha, Racine, and Milwaukee, and in the Kenosha public schools.


Eligibility Criteria
Full-time undergraduate students who show a high degree of promise in their chosen field of study who have demonstrated achievement in high school or at the university, and have made volunteer contributions to school, community, or church. Preference for students who do not meet requirements for federal college assistance such as Pell Grants and are below the definition of high income family. Preference for students from Kenosha County.

Recipients will be selected by the All School Minority/Under-served Population Scholarship Committee.
