Gary McGoey Wisconsin Idea Scholarship

This incoming first year student scholarship does not require completion of a separate application, rather, students are considered after submission of the admissions application and the FAFSA. College scholarships for first year students are very scarce and limited.

The Gary McGoey Wisconsin Idea scholarship provides a one-time award (amount subject to variation) to a high achieving incoming freshman pursuing a degree from the College of Letters & Science.

The Gary McGoey Wisconsin Idea Scholarship was established to support undergraduates with financial need. After serving in the U.S. Army, Gary McGoey graduated from UW-Madison in 1972 with a degree in Arabic.
