Esther Rose Goodman Prize for Excellence in Journalism Fund
The Esther Rose Goodman Prize for Excellence in Journalism is awarded annually to an upper level undergraduate student of good academic standing in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication for the best journalistic reporting that year.

Only School of Journalism and Mass Communication majors are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The application to apply for this and all other School of Journalism and Mass Communication scholarships is open the first two weeks of every December. Preference in selection is given to juniors or seniors who have a minimum 3.0 GPA in journalism and are on the journalism track with an emphasis on news editorial journalism.
This fund was established in 1981 by Esther Rose Goodman’s sisters, Jennie Rimsay and Lenell Ammerman, for their late sister who wished to study journalism at the University, but died while still in high school.
