ACS-Hach Land Grant Undergraduate Scholarship

The ACS-Hach Land Grant Undergraduate Scholarship, established by Clifford and Kitty Hach in 1982, is awarded to undergraduates who are majoring in the chemical sciences (chemistry, biochemistry, or related) and who express an interest in teaching high school chemistry. Students need to have at least one semester (preferably a full year) left in their undergraduate career to be eligible for this award.

This scholarship is renewable at $10,000 per year through the teaching credential program, given that the student remains at the University of Wisconsin and continues to meet the criteria below.

How to Apply
To be considered for the ACS-Hach Land Grant Undergraduate Scholarship, log in and complete the General Application on your WiSH dashboard. The ACS-Hach Land Grant Undergraduate Scholarship application opens in January and closes in February. During this open period, you can find the application under “Other Recommended Opportunities” on your WiSH dashboard. The Department of Chemistry’s Fellowships and Scholarships Committee will review all completed applications and will award on the basis of chemistry aptitude, interest in and commitment to teaching high school chemistry, and financial need. Award recipients are notified in mid-April.
