Alfred Reschke Scholarship

The Alfred Reschke Social Science Scholarship supports outstanding undergraduate students in the Department of Sociology at UW-Madison. Up to four scholarships will be awarded annually.

The Reschke Scholarship honors the late Alfred Reschke, a former student and assistant in the Sociology Department at UW-Madison. It was endowed by a generous bequest from his wife, Luvella K. Reschke.

Eligibility Criteria
Open to Sociology majors who plan to graduate from UW-Madison during the NEXT Academic Year: December, May, or August.

Selection Criteria
Students must demonstrate outstanding academic performance at UW-Madison. According to the terms of the bequest, preference is given to students whose future plans include teaching or working in the social sciences, social services, or the ministry.

Conditions of Award
Students must provide a short statement of purpose and a sample of written work performed in a UW-Madison Sociology course.
