University League - Mrs. William F Allen Freshman Scholarship

The Mrs. William F. Allen University League scholarship supports a 1-time award to incoming freshmen students with financial need intending to earn a degree from the College of Letters & Science.

Admissions application materials are evaluated using donor criteria and College of Letters & Science criteria (academic excellence, community service, leadership, diversity, strength of character, and creative accomplishment). Successful applicants should also have strong recommendations and well written essays. In addition, scholarships with a financial need component require a completed FAFSA form on file with UW-Madison.

This scholarship was established in loving memory of Mrs. William F. Allen, the spouse of one of the pioneer members of the faculty. Mrs. Allen was a charting founder of the University League in 1901. The University League has generously provided thousands of scholarships to University of Wisconsin-Madison students.
