Alta T. and Daniel B. Straley Scholarship
The Alta T. and Daniel B. Straley Scholarship was provided by a trust established by Mr. Straley in memory of his wife Alta and himself. Mrs. Straley was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and Mr. Straley graduated from Washington and Lee University. Mr. Straley died in 1957 and left a trust fund to the University of Wisconsin Foundation for the assistance of teacher preparation students at UW-Madison.
Undergraduate juniors students enrolled in teacher certification programs with the top 20 grade point averages. At least 36 credits must be taken on the Madison Campus. Enrolled in teacher-certification programs who show overall academic quality and promise for educational leadership, with some consideration of financial need. The need factor determines the amount of the award but not whether or not a person receives an award.
Recipients will be selected by the All School Scholarship Committee.
